Yosemite Solid Wood Two Drawer Media Console in Cafe
- Size 30"H × 68"W × 20"D
- Drawers 2
- Assembly about 15 min
The Yosemite collection recreates the improvised, utilitarian look of early 20th century factory furniture. Crafted from solid wood and plywood, this collection utilizes mortise and tenon frames, tongue and groove tops, and frame and panel sides for strength and durability. Roughhewn planks bear the characteristic saw marks, dents, pits, and random knots of logs milled on the steam powered circular and sash saws of the era. Finally, a rustic black pine finish balances transparency and opacity to showcase imperfections inherent in the timber.
- Made from solid pine and plywood
- Open center cubby above 2 drawers, flanked by 2 glass-paned door compartments with interior shelves for media components
- Drawers built with English dovetail joinery
- D-shaped metal bar pulls in a pewter tone
- X-braced side panels, exposed bolt heads and a top with breadboard ends carry the turn-of-the-century industrial look
- Cafe finish is a dark gray with just enough opacity to show clearly defined wood grain; low-sheen lacquer enhances depth and accentuates saw marks and rough spots without looking glossy
- Hand-hewn planks are selected and joined to preserve natural saw marks, imperfections and varying depths from the milling process
- Simple 3 step assembly takes about 15 minutes; hardware ships in the box with the console
- Solid wood breathes with its environment, so expect some shrinkage, expansion and plank movement over time; this is normal and does not affect structural integrity
