Yosemite Solid Wood 54x39 inch Bookshelf in Cafe

The Yosemite collection recreates the improvised, utilitarian look of early 20th century factory furniture. Crafted from solid wood and plywood, this collection utilizes mortise and tenon frames, tongue and groove tops, and frame and panel sides for strength and durability. Roughhewn planks bear the characteristic saw marks, dents, pits, and random knots of logs milled on the steam powered circular and sash saws of the era. Finally, a rustic black pine finish balances transparency and opacity to showcase imperfections inherent in the timber.

• Made from solid pine, pine veneer and plywood
• Open bookshelf with 3 shelves below the top for 4 levels of display
• X-braced sides and an open back keep the frame light against a wall
• Top has exposed breadboard ends fastened with zinc bolts for a turn-of-the-century industrial look
• Bottom shelf sits on a stepped plinth base with block feet
• Cafe finish is a dark gray with just enough opacity to show clearly defined wood grain; low-sheen lacquer enhances depth and accentuates saw marks and rough spots without looking glossy
• Hand-hewn planks keep natural saw marks, knots and grain color variation from the milling process
• Arrives fully assembled
• Solid wood breathes with its environment, so expect some shrinkage, expansion and plank movement over time; this is normal and does not affect structural integrity
